Claudia Barragan is the founder of Communities in Practice,llc. Community in Practice is an urban planning, design, and strategic planning collective of practitioners that views the community as paramount in its practice. For almost 20 years, Barragan has practiced community-centered urban planning and design. She has expertise in policy analysis, equitable development, environmental justice, and public service. Barragan is an alumna of the University of Maryland and American University respectively, she has undergraduate degrees in Arts Humanities and Architecture, and a Master’s degree in International Service and Global Environmental Policy.
