Today’s guest is Josie Faass. Faass is the executive director of the Robert Schalkenbach Foundation and co-director of the Center for Property Tax Reform, an independent research center focused on issues of equity and transparency in taxation. She is the co-author of the handbook Bias in property assessments: Sources and solutions. The handbook combines data gathered through one-on-one interviews with professional assessors who are dedicated to identifying and remedying regressive and inequitable practices in their jurisdictions’ assessments and sharing their ideas on how to bring justice to the process.
